Who
My name is Geoffrey Ogonosky (Geo to many of my friends). I am a graphic designer and photographer with well over a decade of professional experience and I would like to work with you!
What
I create sharp, appealing and highly-functional designs, for print and web. My primary strengths include print advertising design (newspaper, magazine), long document layout and design (annual reports, offering memoranda, presentation books) and information graphics. I have an exceptional skill set that includes more than a decade working with the programs within the Adobe Creative Suite.
In photography, I work with my trusty Nikon D200 with a focus on landscapes, cityscapes and architectural photography. I utilize many of my photographs in my designs as you’ll see throughout my site. I’m currently looking to explore macro photography.

Where
The bulk of my experience has been through in-house creative teams or contract freelance work. I have created successful designs for clients in a multitude of industries nationally and internationally. I currently live and work in Eastern Massachusetts, but I am open to opportunities in other cities.
When
I was born a bicentennial baby and apparently I bopped around a bit during my early years, but finally settled down and was raised in Concord, Massachusetts, home of the Revolutionary War, authors and transcendentalists.
For high school, I attended Minuteman Tech in Lexington and joined their Graphic Design & Printing program right at the heart of the shift from traditional media (rubylith, caliper tech pens and horizontal cameras) to digital (imagesetters, Macs and direct-to-plate). There I learned everything from page layout to multi-color press operation. I was even in one of the first high school classes on Adobe Photoshop, back in 1991.
Then it was on to two years at RIT’s College of Imaging Arts & Sciences for additional study in design. There in 1996, with the help of some savvy techie friends, I taught myself HTML and designed my first self promotion website.
From college, it was onto my professional design career with positions in web design and advertising design. Just before the big New Years in 2000, my wife and I moved to Arlington, Massachusetts, home of more fine restaurants then you could imagine. I also worked as a designer and art director for the in-house creative team at CB Richard Ellis, a position that combined three of my favorite topics: Boston, architecture and design.
Today, I am seeking the new: a new position, a new challenge, a new opportunity! If you know of one, please let me know! In my spare time I am getting things ready for our new arrival (a little girl this December), I take on freelance projects, work on my photography, build PCs from scratch and develop concepts for board games (a hobby of mine).

Why
Why do I do what I do? I love color. I love contrast. I love seeing my ideas in print and on the web. For most of my life I have worked in design because I have a constant drive to express myself creatively through my work. I enjoy the challenge of solving complex design problems and collaboration with other creative minds.
Why would you hire me? I’m the idea guy. At the beginning of any project, I try to offer as many solutions as possible, from blue-sky ideas to cost-conscious options, and then I work with my clients to choose the one that fits their budget and timeframe. I am a tangential thinker with a strong photographic memory. I make connections between things I’ve seen and experienced and I draw upon that to look at each problem in a unique way.
Beyond that, I have a flexibility and adaptability that enables me to act as an exceptional creative problem solver. I focus on researching my clients’ needs to go a step beyond problem solving into problem prevention. I create designs that are flexible enough to work within a client’s future needs. I learn quickly and can easily add to my skill set to provide winning solutions.
